Centara Reserve Krabi, set to open in December 2026, aims to redefine high-end island retreats with private villas, serene surroundings, and exclusive access to Krabi’s famed seascapes, offering a quieter alternative for luxury travellers.

Centara Reserve Krabi is set to open in December 2026 on Pai Plong Bay, a sheltered stretch of sand reached by boat rather than road. The resort is being positioned as a quieter, more secluded alternative to Thailand’s busier beach destinations, with the appeal of a private cove, limestone scenery and calm waters that suit travellers looking for a more laid-back luxury break. According to Centara’s announcement, the property is a reworked version of the former Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas Krabi.

The resort will offer suites and pool villas, alongside lagoon pools, a spa and three restaurants and bars. Centara’s own resort pages say accommodation includes large premium rooms with private plunge pools and terraces, suggesting the property will lean towards space and privacy rather than a standard beach-hotel format. For guests, that makes it especially attractive for couples, families wanting room to spread out, or anyone planning a longer stay by the sea.

This will be the second Centara Reserve property in Thailand after Centara Reserve Samui, which opened in 2021. Centara has said the Krabi launch is part of a wider push to grow its luxury offering, and the company argues that Krabi is becoming one of the country’s most promising high-end destinations. That fits with the area’s long-standing appeal: turquoise water, white sand and dramatic limestone cliffs have made Krabi one of Thailand’s best-known coastal escapes.

For travellers, the main draw is not just the brand refresh but the setting itself. Pai Plong Bay offers a more secluded experience than many of Thailand’s better-known resort beaches, while still giving access to Krabi’s celebrated seascapes, including nearby Maya Bay. If Centara delivers on its promise of refined design and a strong sense of place, the new resort could become one of the more interesting luxury stays in southern Thailand.
