Hilton expands lifestyle portfolio with new flagship resorts in Thailand and Maldives

Hilton is broadening its lifestyle-centric offerings in South-East Asia with three new signing developments in Phuket, Chiang Mai, and the Maldives, targets that highlight its focus on design-led, activity-rich travel experiences.

Hilton is extending its lifestyle-led push in South-East Asia with three new signings that should be of interest to travellers looking for more design-driven stays in some of the region’s most popular destinations. The new properties will be in Phuket and Chiang Mai in Thailand, as well as in the Maldives, adding to a regional portfolio that the company says is growing steadily across resort and city markets.

In Phuket, the planned Andamanda Voyage, Curio Collection by Hilton, will sit within the Andamanda Waterpark complex in Kathu District, making it a potentially appealing option for families and holidaymakers who want easy access to one of the island’s best-known leisure attractions. Hilton says the 246-room resort is due to open at the end of this year, and its location should also put guests within reach of Phuket’s beaches, dining and wider island sightseeing.

Chiang Mai is set to receive the city’s first Tapestry Collection by Hilton hotel. Hilton says the 65-room property will be close to temples, weekend walking streets, cultural landmarks and local markets, which could suit visitors who want a more walkable base for exploring the old city and its surrounding neighbourhoods. The addition comes as Hilton deepens its lifestyle offering in Thailand, alongside properties such as Kahavadi Chiang Rai, Curio Collection by Hilton, and forthcoming openings including Canopy Bangkok Sukhumvit and Nivata Koh Samui.

The Maldives signing is notable because it brings Tapestry Collection by Hilton to one of the world’s most competitive leisure markets. Coco de Mer Maldives is scheduled to open in June 2027 with 75 rooms, and Hilton says the property will include dining venues, a wellness centre, a sea sports centre and pickleball courts. That mix suggests a resort aimed at travellers who want more than a beach stay alone, with activities and wellness built into the experience. Hilton already has a Maldives presence through Hilton Maldives Amingiri Resort & Spa, which opened in 2022, and the company says the latest signings reflect continuing demand for its lifestyle brands in resort destinations.
