Reservations open for The Langham, Custom House Bangkok, a historic landmark blending neo-Palladian architecture with contemporary luxury, offering a unique riverside stay with acclaimed dining and wellness amenities.

Reservations are now open for The Langham, Custom House, Bangkok, which is due to welcome its first guests on 20 December 2026. Set on the Chao Phraya River in Bang Rak, the property is taking shape around one of Bangkok’s best-known heritage landmarks, the former Custom House, which is being carefully restored as the heart of the hotel. According to The Langham’s website, the project is being positioned as a riverside stay that pairs historic character with contemporary luxury.

The building dates back to 1888, when it was completed during the reign of King Rama V and served as a symbolic entry point to Siam. Coverage by The Finest Thai and Time Out Bangkok says the restoration is designed to preserve the building’s neo-Palladian identity while bringing it into a new hotel complex that also includes a former post office and a modern wing. The result, according to the hotel’s own material, will be a low-rise, highly atmospheric property rather than a conventional tower hotel.

For guests, the appeal will lie in the scale and setting. The hotel is set to offer 75 rooms and suites, with most accommodation housed in the new building beside the Custom House. A first look shared by LATTE Luxury News pointed to a Deluxe River View Balcony category, underlining the importance of the waterfront outlook. The location should also suit travellers wanting easy access to some of Bangkok’s most recognisable areas, including Chinatown and Asiatique The Riverfront, with private river transport planned for guests.

Dining and wellbeing are being pitched as major draws. The hotel plans to host Bangkok’s outpost of Hong Kong’s three-Michelin-starred T’ang Court, alongside other food and drink venues. It will also feature Chuan Spa, The Langham’s wellness concept inspired by traditional Chinese medicine, plus a fitness centre fitted with Technogym’s Sandstone collection, which the hotel says will be the first of its kind in Asia. For travellers, that means a stay built around both serious dining and a polished spa-and-riverfront experience.

Langham Hospitality Group chief executive Bob van den Oord said the project was intended to return the site to its original role as a place of welcome, while presenting what he described as a considered form of luxury. That framing fits a broader trend in Bangkok, where heritage-led hotels are increasingly competing on atmosphere, location and sense of place rather than size alone. If it opens as planned, The Langham, Custom House, Bangkok will offer one of the city’s most distinctive riverside stays, especially for visitors who want history, strong dining and immediate access to the river.
