Cebu Pacific resumes direct international flights from Davao to Hong Kong and Bangkok, boosting regional connectivity

The airline reintroduces non-stop routes from Davao to Hong Kong and Bangkok, offering travellers easier access to popular destinations and enhancing domestic capacity amid ongoing route adjustments.

Cebu Pacific will bring back direct international links from Davao to Hong Kong and Bangkok in late October, giving travellers in southern Mindanao fresh non-stop options for short city breaks, family visits and onward connections. According to the airline’s announcement cited by BusinessWorld, flights to Hong Kong will restart on October 25, followed by services to Bangkok via Don Mueang International Airport on October 26.

For holidaymakers, the reinstatement should make it easier to plan trips without routing through Manila or Cebu. The Hong Kong service will run four times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, while the Bangkok flights will operate three times weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Cebu Pacific has also said it will boost domestic capacity from Davao, lifting services to Siargao to 10 flights a week and to Iloilo to 14 flights a week, which may offer better weekend and multi-stop itinerary options for travellers combining island and city stays.

The return of the Bangkok route is also notable because Cebu Pacific had earlier suspended the Davao-Bangkok service from mid-April to late October, citing the effect of conflict-related pressure on global fuel costs, according to reporting by GMA News. That background suggests the reintroduction is more than a routine schedule tweak: for passengers, it marks the restoration of a route that had been temporarily withdrawn, with the airline now signalling that demand and operating conditions allow it to come back.

Travel planners still need to check exact timings before booking, as schedules can change. Flight information sites currently show Cebu Pacific’s Davao-Hong Kong service as a regular four-times-weekly operation, which aligns with the airline’s latest announcement, while broader online advisories indicate that the carrier has been managing several route adjustments across its network this year. For visitors headed to Thailand, the key gain is simpler access to Bangkok from Davao, cutting out an extra transfer and making short trips more practical.
