Air Astana is increasing its flight services from Almaty and Astana, offering more options for travellers to Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, and Thailand, boosting convenience for holidaymakers and business travellers alike amid schedule adjustments on Gulf routes.
Air Astana is widening its schedule from Almaty and Astana, giving holidaymakers more flexibility on three routes that are popular for city breaks and regional trips. According to the airline, extra services to Tbilisi will begin on 2 October, while the Bishkek link will move to daily flights from 30 August. The Bangkok route from Almaty will also step up from 30 September before becoming daily in November, which should make it easier for travellers to find dates that suit school holidays, long weekends and onward connections. The additional Tbilisi flights will run on Wednesdays and Saturdays, while the Astana-Tbilisi service is being extended through 11 October on Fridays and Sundays.
For travellers heading to Georgia, the higher frequency is likely to mean better choice and less pressure on peak travel dates. Flightsfrom.com lists the Almaty-Tbilisi journey at just over four hours, making it a practical option for a short city break or a wider holiday across the Caucasus. The route is already served directly by Air Astana, so the extra departures should mainly improve convenience rather than change the way people travel.
The move to daily Bishkek flights is likely to be especially useful for business travellers, relatives visiting family and passengers making short cross-border trips. Flightsfrom.com says the Almaty-Bishkek sector is very short, at around 131 miles, which means schedule choice matters more than flight time on this route. For leisure travellers, the increase could also make it simpler to combine Kyrgyzstan with a wider Central Asia itinerary.
Bangkok is the biggest draw in the revised schedule for holidaymakers planning a longer trip. Flightsfrom.com says the Almaty-Bangkok service takes about six hours and 40 minutes, and Air Astana’s planned move to daily operations from November should give passengers more room to build flexible itineraries around hotel check-in dates, tours and internal connections within Thailand. The expansion comes as the airline is also managing disruption on some Gulf routes: it has extended the suspension of flights from Almaty and Astana to Dubai until 30 September 2026 and adjusted parts of its October schedule, offering rebooking on affected tickets.
