InterContinental Phuket Residences champions wellness-driven luxury with new branded homes

The Residences at InterContinental Phuket Resort introduces an exclusive collection of 111 homes blending hotel-like amenities, wellness certification, and privacy on Kamala Beach, redefining luxury living in Thailand’s resort market.

The Residences at InterContinental Phuket Resort is being positioned as one of Phuket’s most distinctive places to stay and own a home, pairing beachfront resort living with the service standards of the InterContinental name. Set on Kamala Beach and directly connected to the resort, the development gives residents access to a lifestyle that feels closer to a five-star hotel than a conventional condominium, while still offering the privacy of a limited collection of homes. According to IHG and Proud Real Estate, the project includes just 111 residences, from one-bedroom units to five-bedroom penthouses, making it an unusually intimate address for such a prominent brand.

For travellers and long-stay guests, the appeal lies in how much of the resort experience carries through to daily life. The project is tied into the InterContinental Phuket Resort, which the companies say is the only InterContinental property to have received Two Michelin Keys. Residents are expected to benefit from selected hotel-style services and facilities, including concierge support, housekeeping, in-residence dining, restaurants and spa access, subject to the project’s terms. That makes it particularly attractive for people who want the comforts of a managed luxury stay without giving up the atmosphere of a private home.

Wellness is a central part of the concept rather than an afterthought. Proud says the development has received Two-Star Fitwel Design Certification under the Multifamily Residential v3.0 standard, making it Phuket’s first Fitwel-certified branded residence. The company frames that recognition as proof that health, safety and everyday comfort were considered from the outset. Facilities highlighted for guests and residents include a 25-metre pool with hydrotherapy, a Technogym-equipped fitness centre, a rooftop yoga area, a wellness and meditation zone, and landscaped garden space designed to encourage movement and restoration.

That wellness pitch is backed by broader industry evidence. A study by the Center for Active Design and QuadReal, examining 60 properties, found that higher Fitwel scores were associated with greater occupant satisfaction and, in some asset types, higher rent per square foot. Separate research into Healthy Building Certification in the United States found certified buildings achieved average rents around 4% to 6% higher than comparable properties. Those findings do not guarantee identical results for every project, but they help explain why health-focused design is increasingly being treated as a genuine part of luxury rather than a marketing flourish.

The location strengthens the case further for anyone looking at Phuket as a place to spend meaningful time rather than just a holiday. Kamala Beach offers a quieter setting than the island’s busiest stretches, yet remains close enough to restaurants, beach clubs and west-coast attractions to keep the area lively. Proud says the project is being launched with an investment of more than 2.5 billion baht, and its scheduled completion in September 2027 places it among the newer luxury options in a market where branded residences continue to appeal to buyers seeking both comfort and long-term desirability.

For travellers drawn to Phuket for restorative escapes, extended stays or a second home by the sea, the development’s strongest selling point is its combination of privacy, branded service and wellness-led design. It is not simply about having a smart address on Kamala Beach; it is about the ease of waking up in a resort environment, using hotel facilities when desired, and living in a home that has been shaped around wellbeing as much as style. That is the promise behind The Residences at InterContinental Phuket Resort, and it is what sets it apart in Phuket’s luxury market.
