Anantara Bophut Koh Samui launches spiritual journey experience to mark 25 years

To celebrate its 25th anniversary, Anantara Bophut Koh Samui has introduced the Island Blessings Experience, a reflective journey blending island sightseeing with Buddhist traditions, offering guests a deeper cultural connection beyond the beaches.

Anantara Bophut Koh Samui Resort is marking Anantara’s 25th anniversary with a new guest experience that looks beyond the island’s beaches and into its Buddhist traditions. The Island Blessings Experience is designed as a slower, more reflective way to see Koh Samui, combining a stay at the beachfront resort with visits to some of the island’s best-known temples. According to the resort’s announcement, the package is available for a minimum two-night stay and includes daily breakfast.

The journey begins at the property, where guests take part in lotus flower folding, a ritual inspired by a symbol of purity and spiritual awakening in Buddhism. The experience then moves to Wat Sawang Arom, also known as Wat Chaweng, where visitors receive a monk blessing and make merit at an active place of worship with strong links to the local community. The itinerary also includes Wat Sila Ngu, the Red Temple, whose terracotta architecture and Buddhist imagery stand out against Koh Samui’s tropical setting and the Gulf of Thailand.

The final stop is Wat Samret, one of the island’s oldest temples, where guests offer their folded lotus flowers in a quieter, more contemplative setting. The resort says the programme is intended to give travellers a more meaningful connection with Koh Samui’s spiritual life, rather than a standard sightseeing stop. Round-trip transfers for the temple visits are included, alongside a guided cultural experience.

For travellers, the appeal is not only cultural but practical. Anantara Bophut Koh Samui sits on Bophut Beach within walking distance of Fisherman’s Village, and the resort describes itself as having 106 rooms, suites and beachfront pool suites, landscaped grounds, an award-winning garden spa and several dining options, including Guilty, Thin Tai and TĀN Beach Lounge. The new package adds a temple-focused alternative for guests who want a stay that combines beach time with a deeper look at the island’s heritage.
