Thailand’s first Plaza Premium First and Lounge open at Suvarnabhumi Airport

Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok unveils Thailand’s inaugural Plaza Premium First and Plaza Premium Lounge, offering travellers enhanced pre-flight comfort and privacy options, including new redemption privileges for KTC credit card members.

Travellers passing through Suvarnabhumi Airport now have two new lounge options in the international departures area at Concourse G, as KTC and Plaza Premium Group have opened Thailand’s first Plaza Premium First and Plaza Premium Lounge. According to the announcement carried by Now Travel Asia, both spaces officially opened on 28 August 2026 and are intended to give cardmembers and other passengers a more comfortable place to eat, rest and freshen up before a flight.

For passengers, the difference is straightforward. Plaza Premium First is the more private, higher-end option, with a quieter setting and more carefully selected food and drink. Plaza Premium Lounge is designed to be more accessible, welcoming travellers regardless of airline or ticket class, with seating areas, dining space and facilities aimed at a wider range of passengers. For holidaymakers flying in or out of Bangkok, that could mean a more relaxed start or finish to the journey, especially on long-haul trips.

KTC says its credit card members can redeem KTC FOREVER points for access to Plaza Premium Lounges, including Plaza Premium First at Suvarnabhumi. The promotion for Bangkok runs from 15 August 2026 to 15 February 2027, and the published redemption rate is 5,999 points plus 895 baht for entry to the First lounge. The lounge visit is listed as lasting two to three hours, making it most useful for those with a longer connection, an early check-in or time to spare before departure.

Plaza Premium Group describes itself as a global airport hospitality operator with lounges in many international airports, and its wider network already includes a number of Plaza Premium First locations across Asia, North America and Europe. For travellers to Thailand, the practical significance is that Suvarnabhumi now offers a broader choice of pre-flight comfort in one of the country’s busiest gateways, with the new lounges potentially easing the airport experience for both frequent flyers and occasional holidaymakers.
