Kamalaya launches lunar-inspired wellness retreat to foster spiritual reset this autumn

Kamalaya Wellness Sanctuary in Koh Samui unveils Sacred Renewal, a multi-night programme aligned with lunar phases that combines ancient wisdom and modern therapies to offer a restorative and meaningful escape this autumn, coinciding with the sanctuary’s 21st anniversary.

Kamalaya Wellness Sanctuary in Koh Samui is adding a new reason for guests to visit this autumn, with the launch of Sacred Renewal, a multi-night programme built around lunar phases, spiritual practice and restorative therapies. The retreat, which marks the property’s 21st anniversary, is due to begin on 1 October and is offered as an eight-, 11- or 15-night stay, with prices for the shortest version starting from THB120,633 before accommodation. According to Kamalaya, the programme is designed to appeal to travellers looking for a deeper sense of reset rather than a conventional spa break.

The experience is shaped around the full lunar cycle, moving from the waxing moon, associated in classical yogic and Vedic thought with growth and illumination, to the waning moon, which is linked to release, purification and inward reflection. Kamalaya says guests are guided through rituals, meditation, breath awareness, mantra, mindful movement and one-to-one sessions intended to help clear mental and physical stagnation while building steadiness and clarity.

For travellers, the appeal lies in how the programme blends spirituality with practical wellness treatments. Kamalaya says Sacred Renewal also draws on Ayurveda, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Taoist healing and Reiki, alongside elemental work based on the Pancha Mahābhūtas: earth for grounding, water for receptivity, fire for discipline, air for movement and ether for stillness. The sanctuary says these elements are used to help visitors feel more balanced, energised and connected to their surroundings during their stay.

Gopal Kumar, the general manager and group director of wellness, said Kamalaya’s approach has been shaped by ancient wisdom rather than passing trends. In a statement, he described Sacred Renewal as a return to simple, sacred practices lived with awareness, and said guests are invited to align with the lunar cycle in a way that supports inner coherence and spiritual attunement.

That positioning fits the wider market for destination wellness travel in Thailand, where guests increasingly look for retreats that combine a beautiful setting with a clear sense of purpose. On Koh Samui, Kamalaya is leaning into that demand with a programme that is less about indulgence and more about structure, reflection and recovery, making it likely to appeal to travellers seeking time out that feels both restorative and meaningful.
