Cathay Pacific launches a promotional round-trip fare from New York to Phuket for $949, featuring one-stop routes through Hong Kong with optional stopovers, ideal for travellers seeking a mix of affordability and convenience for early 2027 travel.
Cathay Pacific has a new sale fare from New York to Phuket, with round trips advertised at $949 including taxes. The sample itinerary runs from January 20 to 27, 2027, although The Flight Deal says there is also some availability in early January and again from late February into early March, with seats limited and purchase required at least seven days before departure.
For holidaymakers, the appeal is a one-stop journey that keeps the trip relatively straightforward: New York to Hong Kong, then on to Phuket, and the same route back. The Flight Deal says the ticket is in fare class Q and that two stopovers can be added for $100 each, which could suit travellers who want to break up a long-haul journey and spend a day or two in Hong Kong either on the way out or the return.
The price is respectable, but it is not the lowest this route has seen in recent months. The same deal site previously flagged New York–Phuket fares at $927 in July, $824 in March, $786 in October 2025 and $742 in September 2025, all on similar routing via Hong Kong. In other words, this latest offer still represents a sale, but travellers chasing the absolute bottom price may want to keep watching. For US visitors, The Flight Deal also notes that a visa is not required for Thailand, which removes one more layer of planning before a beach break.
As with many airline promotions, availability is the real hurdle. The Flight Deal points readers to ITA Matrix for fare searches and to Priceline for booking, while warning that the offer can disappear quickly. For anyone planning a Phuket trip next winter or early spring, the practical takeaway is simple: if the dates work, this is a chance to secure a long-haul Thailand getaway with a single connection and a clear published fare.
