Waldorf Astoria Bangkok has introduced IRIS-powered in-room ordering and a mobile guest directory across all 171 rooms, boosting convenience and personalised service without compromising its luxe identity.
Waldorf Astoria Bangkok has added a digital layer to its guest experience, introducing IRIS-powered in-room ordering and a mobile guest directory across all 171 of its luxury rooms. The hotel, in Bangkok’s Ratchaprasong district, is using the system to give travellers quicker access to practical information, from dining and spa services to local recommendations, while keeping the overall stay polished and personal, according to the announcement and IRIS’s own product description.
For guests, the main appeal is convenience. Instead of relying on printed directories and room-service menus, visitors can scan a QR code in the room and browse hotel services, view restaurant and spa information, and place in-room dining orders from their own devices without downloading an app. IRIS says the platform is designed to be fully branded and Hilton-approved, so the digital experience still feels consistent with the hotel’s luxury identity.
The new system also makes meal ordering more useful for travellers. Hospitality Upgrade reported that the menus include photography, ingredient details, allergen information and customisation options, with breakfast pre-ordering available for added flexibility. The hotel has also linked the ordering platform to its Oracle MICROS point-of-sale system, which should help reduce errors and speed up service.
Paweena Waraha, hotel manager at Waldorf Astoria Bangkok, said the aim was to combine convenience with the kind of attentive service luxury guests expect. For visitors, that means less time spent searching for information and more time enjoying the hotel’s signature strengths: refined design, high-end dining and a central Bangkok location that puts shops, restaurants and city sights within easy reach. IRIS chief revenue officer Marcus Bird said the platform is intended to support, rather than replace, human service.
