Bangkok Suvarnabhumi unveils upgraded lounges offering more comfort for travellers

Travelers at Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport now have access to two new Plaza Premium lounges, enhancing comfort and convenience for long-haul and connecting passengers with flexible access options, including a premium First class space and a standard lounge open to all.

Travellers passing through Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport now have two extra lounge options before a long-haul flight or a connection in Thailand’s busiest gateway. Plaza Premium Group has opened both a standard Plaza Premium Lounge and a more upmarket Plaza Premium First in the airside section of Concourse G, close to Gate G1, giving passengers without airline status another place to shower, eat and wait more comfortably than in the main terminal. According to Plaza Premium Group, both lounges are open to all travellers, whatever their airline or ticket class.

The larger Plaza Premium Lounge covers 578 square metres and can seat up to 98 guests, while Plaza Premium First is a smaller 212-square-metre space for 51 people. For leisure travellers, that matters because Bangkok is often either the first stop on a Thailand holiday or the point where a domestic trip turns into a long international journey home. A quieter lounge can make a long layover far more manageable, especially if you are arriving early for an overnight flight or connecting after a beach break, city stay or island transfer.

Plaza Premium First is being positioned as the more polished of the two, with a more private feel and a stronger food-and-drink offering, according to Plaza Premium Group and KTC, which is partnering on the launch in Thailand. KTC said the lounges officially opened on 28 August 2026 and that some cardholders can access a buy-one-get-one offer until 15 October 2026, which could be useful for couples or friends travelling together. The standard lounge is also expected to be bookable for cash, and walk-in prices reported locally put entry at THB 1,750 for the standard lounge and THB 2,400 for Plaza Premium First.

For visitors planning a Thailand trip, the new openings are mainly about convenience rather than luxury for its own sake. They add more choice at Suvarnabhumi at a time when many travellers want simple things: somewhere calm to sit, a proper meal, and a better start or finish to the journey.
